CALEA Public Comment Portal The is currently pursuing accredited status with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). As part of its assessment process, CALEA has moved from holding public call-in sessions and public hearings to a web-based public comment portal. The posting of this public comment portal is a requirement of CALEA law enforcement standard 45.2.3. The purpose of this public comment portal is to receive comments regarding the ’s compliance with CALEA standards and its engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. Comments can be made in the form of commendations or concerns. Information received from this public comment portal will be used by CALEA and OSIG to support continuous improvement and foster the pursuit of professional excellence. IMPORTANT: CALEA is not an investigatory body and subsequently the public comment portal should not be used to submit information for such purposes. To file a formal complaint or commendation, OSIG should be contacted directly. Additionally, there will be no response other than an acknowledgment that the submission was received. The information provided will be considered in context to its relevancy to compliance with the standards and tenets of CALEA Accreditation.
